The opinions and ideas expressed in articles, research, lectures, and books published on this site do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of the site management and are the responsibility of their authors only. Good Book is an open electronic publishing platform that allows authors and readers to upload and edit materials under widely accepted Creative Commons principles. Files on this site have been uploaded and shared via the internet under that arrangement. Please note that Good Book's staff did not physically photograph or scan any book; our role has been limited to collecting, indexing, and organizing materials in one place.
If you believe that the publication of any electronic file on this site infringes the copyright or distribution rights of your books or of the publishing house you represent (or you are otherwise legally authorized to act on their behalf), or if you believe any other rights have been violated, please report the file by contacting us at: abuse@readgoodbook.com.
Good Book makes a modest effort to encourage Arabic reading by aggregating books from several sources already available on the internet — including copies provided to us by their rights-holders as a contribution to knowledge and to enrich the site's content and the Arabic-language web. If a copyrighted book appears on the site in error, please contact us and we will remove it immediately.
Good Book respects the intellectual property rights of others and aims to provide a safe platform free of infringing content. Our Terms of Use require that user-submitted information be accurate, lawful, and not infringing on third-party rights. To support that aim, Good Book provides a process for submitting complaints about member-posted content. Our policies and procedures are summarized below.
Whether or not we disable access to or remove the content, Good Book will, in good faith, attempt to send a written notice that includes the complainant's contact information to the member who uploaded the content, and/or take other reasonable steps to notify the member that Good Book received a claim of alleged intellectual property infringement. In appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, we may disable and/or terminate accounts of members who are repeat infringers or who persistently post illegal content.
Please be aware that any notice or counter-notice you submit must be accurate and made under penalty of perjury. False claims or false counter-notices may expose the signer to civil and criminal liability. You may wish to seek legal advice before submitting a notice or counter-notice.
Notice of Claimed Infringement
In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), Good Book has implemented procedures for receiving written notifications of claimed infringement. Good Book has also designated an agent to receive notifications of alleged copyright infringement.
If you believe in good faith that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send us a written notice that includes the following:
- An electronic or physical signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- A clear identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list of such works);
- A URL or other specific location on our site where the material that you claim is infringing is located;
- Your address, telephone number, and email address so we can contact you;
- A statement by you that, in good faith, you believe that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
- Please send your notice to: abuse@readgoodbook.com.
Counter-Notification
If you believe that a notice of copyright infringement has been wrongly submitted against you, you may submit a counter-notification under Sections 512(g)(2) and (3) of the DMCA. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- Contact information (address, telephone number, and email) so we may contact you; and
- Please send your counter-notice to: abuse@readgoodbook.com.
The management of Good Book is aware of the economic and legal harms that copyright and intellectual property violations can cause to authors and publishers, and we strive to detect and remove infringing materials and permanently delete them when appropriate.
Good Book leverages modern technology to facilitate access to knowledge. We believe this supports the advancement of the Arabic-speaking community by making as many books as possible available under Creative Commons and similar permissions, and by providing a venue for authors who want to publish their work freely for wider dissemination.
We respect others' property rights and always aim to avoid infringement. Authors and publishers have the right to request removal of any download link to their work. If you find a book on our site that you own or that you do not consent to being shared, please contact us via our contact page or by email: abuse@readgoodbook.com. We will not hesitate to remove any book that we determine to be subject to valid copyright claims.
Our goal is to expand access to knowledge and to provide useful books across many fields. We believe that knowledge has no homeland and should be shared widely. Thank you for visiting Good Book. We hope you remain a friend of the site and help promote and share it to increase its benefit to readers everywhere.
